Well, since no one has replied to this, and since I haven't been well enough to post for several days, I'll start off with my thoughts. I feel a warmth, and a constancy, when I see a lighted candle. At Christmas I put an electric decoration in the window with 3 Orange candle lights on it. My friend, Mark, who lives in Albuquerque, rented a room from me for several months a few years ago. He said that he loved seeing the "candles" in the window when he would come in at night, that it looked inviting and homey. I have no particular religious connotations about a lighted candle, having grown up in a Baptist home, but I just feel that a lighted candle is a symbol of loving, caring, waiting, praying for,and never giving up. Especially in respect to keeping a lighted candle for our Servicemen and Servicewomen overseas. sb/jackie |

SpringBaby...I have to say? If your not feeling well and you express yourself 'that' well ...then I think you have the makings of a 'writer.' Have you ever authored anything? (((Hugs))) from the Pieperson.. |

Pie, thanks for the compliment, and no, I have never published anything. Heck, I can't even get myself to keep a journal. However, I describe myself as a "storyteller. I learned this by sitting around listening to my Dad and his Cousins and friends from Alabama (which is where my Dad and Mom were born and grew up). Also, we are from Scotch-Irish stock and I sometimes think that makes a person a natural-born storyteller. It IS strange that you should ask me that question, though, because about 2 weeks ago I joined a quasi-writer's group. It is listed under "Senior Groups". I explained, in my application that I'm not a writer, per se, but that I am a "storyteller". It is a desire that I have always kind of had, but never nurtured. sb/jackie |
