Do you think we should make our group a locked group?

I think the group is fine just as it is--however, I can understand the reasoning to keep it  private.
I will vote for it to be locked.
It may however keep membership down.

A locked group simply means no one can check out what were saying unless they are a member. It also means we won't be listed on the group board.

I didn't know that, Eln.  I have seen lots of locked groups on the Senior list in the past.  I haven't looked lately.

Same here, Eln,  I browse through the groups every so often.  There are locked groups there.  I always look in the "Senior" groups. If you are interested in joining a "Locked" Community, you just fill out an application and tell them why you want to join.  I've joined 2 of them that way in the past 6 months. I always figure that if I don't like it, I can always cancel my membership.  I also did that a few days ago.  sb

It really doesn't matter to me either way, but if our votes count, still count me for "closed group".

I hate to follow myself in a thread, but I just had an after-thought.  Sometimes, I think people are more curious, and more apt to join a closed group, because of the suspense, and the feeling of exclusivity.  Isn't that a snobbish thing to say.LOL

OK.... I'll try to make this as clear as I can. (I goofed when I said we wouldn't be on the ratings page, sorry, we will be.)
Our group will still be listed in the Sr. catagory, but will state it's a locked group, which means no one can come in and read what we are posting without joining. It states "by invitation only". But folks can still join by clicking our addy and applying.
Copied from the list page..I selected this at random.
This is a members-only area

saturn, you can't meet people that are just lurking.  They are invisible.  Can only meet people that join group.

I vote to close this group after midnight tonight when new meter begins.
