Mornings Gray Mist

The mist of morn is damp and gray,
a cooling down period it seems to say.
It can be a time of reflection, but promise too,
as the sun's light will make things new.

It may be this same gray mist that can fill one's heart,
with a slight coolness, as tender feelings depart
all the while waiting for the promise of new found dreams,
that same bright light and a special gleam.

There's a tune in each of us, some may say absurd
in the form of a melody or a written word.
But, it will often determine the exact position
we surrender too, when we take the time to listen.

As the mist is lifted and there's light as before,
it's like watching a wave roll unto the shore,
then receding, taking with it all that is old,
leaving behind a wealth far greater than gold.
