KSCWE Royality

SKCW.Com will be looking back at the career's of the past King and Queen of The Ring's starting with KSCWE

Sting: Sting won the King of The Ring in 2003 during the SCWE RAW Tournament. Sting was already at the time a well established superstar but planned on using the tournament to get a guaranteed World Title Shot. Sting would defeat a then up and coming Matt Hardy in the first round of the tournament and then would defeat Sabu in the second round via Disqualification. Sting would then defeat future stand out Stevie Richards in the Semi-Finals before meeting Undertaker in the finals. In an epic contest, Sting would overcome Taker and become the first King of The Ring. Sting wouldn't become World Champion but Sting did become a true Icon in the company and his King of The Ring Win resulted in some of his most epic battles with the likes of Matt Hardy and Undertaker. Sting would enter the 2004 WCW King of The Ring Tournament the next year and nearly repeat as champion but ultimatly fell in the finals to the man he beat in the first round the year before Matt Hardy. That would mark Sting's final King of The Ring Appearance and Sting is currently retired from the company.

Do or Die: Do or Die won the SCWE SmackDown! King of The Ring Tournament in 2003. At the time of the tournament, Die was known mostly as a Tag Team Superstar to Georgie Gunz and a member of High Tymes and generally considered somebody whose job was on the line. Die though would use the King of The Ring Tournament to launch his career. Die would defeat The Hurricane in the first round before defeating Justin Kid in the second round and then El Gigante in the Semi Finals. In the finals, Die would defeat Vampiro. Die wouldn't become World Champion after his King of The Ring Win but the King of The Ring Title launched Die's career as Die would later join The Triple Threat and make a permant mark on the company. Do or Die entered the SCWE King of The Ring Tournament the next year but fell in the Semi-Finals to Undertaker which would mark Die's final appearance in the King of The Ring Tournament. Do or Die is currently retired from the company.

Mikey G: Mikey G won the 2004 SCWE King of The Ring Tournament which launched his career. Mikey G at the time was known as little more then a Juniorweight and a man who was trying to elevate his game. In the months prior to the tournament, Mikey would go from beloved fan favorite to shocking his fans by joining The Triple Threat but by the time The King of The Ring Tournament rolled around, Shane Douglas and Matt Walker the two staples of the group had moved on to WCW leaving Mikey G to fend for himself. Mikey would use the KOR Tournament to continue his elevation. Mikey would defeat Lance Storm in the first round and then defeat Brandon Davis in a major upset in the Second Round or Semi-Finals of a shortened tournament. Mikey would then pin Sonny Siaki in the King of The Ring Finals to become King of The Ring in a Fatal Four Way Match which also featured 2003 Runner Up Undertaker and Future KOR Winner Charlie Haas. Mikey would use the KOR Victory to go on to become World Champion and cement his status as one of the top superstars of all time. Mikey would also have a memorable rivalry with Undertaker as a result of the ending. Mikey G would enter the SCWE King of The Ring the next year but lost in the second round by Disqualification to Stevie Richards which would mark Mikey's final appearance in the tournament. Mikey G is currently retired.

Matt Hardy: Matt Hardy first entered the King of The Ring Tournament in 2003 During the SCWE RAW Tournament but lost in the first round to Sting. Hardy would defeat The "Franchise" Shane Douglas in an epic first round match up to advance as Matt would then defeat Booker T who at the time was one of the brand's top stars in the second round and then knocked off The Love Machine in the Semi-Finals before avenging his loss from the previous year by defeating Sting in the finals to become the 2004 WCW King of The Ring. The win would launch Hardy's career into the upper tier as Hardy would go on to become a multi-time grand slam champion holding nearly every title to go through KSCWE and later SKCW. Hardy and his then girlfriend and now wife Kelli would also become Queen of the Ring as they became the first "Royal Couple" of the company. Hardy would not enter anymore King of The Ring Tournament's. Matt Hardy is currently out awaiting the birth of his first child with his wife Kelli.

Kelli Hardy: Kelli Hardy would become the first ever "Queen of The Ring" by winning the 2004 WCW Queen of The Ring Tournament. During the tournament Kelli defeated Gail Kim in the first round, Jasmine in the second round and in the finals defeated Jenna Banks. The victory in the tournament would launch Kelli's career as before the tournament. Kelli was known mostly as Triple H's little sister. The win also would give the company its first "Golden Royality Couple" as Kelli's boyfriend at the time and current husband Matt Hardy won the King of The Ring Tournament at the same time. Kelli would go on to become a Multi-Time Women's Champion and is widely considered one of the top divas to ever grace the ring and the Queen of The Ring Tournament began it all. Kelli never again entered the Queen of The Ring Tournament. Kelli is currently on maternity leave as she is expecting her first child with husband Matt sometime soon.

Maven: Maven entered his first King of The Ring Tournament during 2005. Maven who at the time was already a well established star looked to add the title of King to his resume and earn another World Title Shot. Maven faced a tough field in that year's WCW King of The Ring Tournament but Maven would defeat his stalker Rico in the first round before knocking off Edge in the second round and then Matt Matlock in the Semi-Finals. That would leave Maven to an epic battle with JBL in the finals as Maven came out on top. Maven would later have several epic battles with JBL and then World Champion Christian as the KOR Victory made Maven into an even bigger star. Maven would not enter another King of The Ring Tournament until this year. Maven is currently apart of the OverDrive! Roster

Charlie Haas: Charlie Haas has entered two previous King of The Ring Tournament's and has never been pinned or made to submit in either of them yet has only won one of them. Charlie first entered the 2004 SCWE King of The Ring Tournament defeating the legendary Raven and then Jeff Corruption before not favoring in the decision during the Fatal Four Way Final. However, the next year Haas was determined to become King of The Ring as he envered the 2005 SCWE King of The Ring Tournament. That year Charlie would defeat Paul London, Chris Wright, and then Raven again to advance into the finals where Charlie Haas would have to meet the legendary Stevie Richards and in a epic battle, Charlie Haas emerged victorious to become King of The Ring. Haas was already well on his way to becoming a major star and the KOR Victory only cemented his status. Charlie would not enter another King of The Ring until this year. Charlie is currently apart of the OverDrive! Roster

Cynthia Diamond: Cynthia Diamond won the 2005 SCWE Queen of The Ring Tournament. Jackie Gayda: Jackie Gayda won the 2005 WCW Queen of The Ring Tournament. The win would help breath a second life into Jackie's career which had been stalling out. Jackie would defeat her long time rival Trish Stratus by Disqualification in the first round, another former rival and legend Rose Thorn in the second round before defeating a future legend Scarlett in the finals. Jackie's victory also would make it two in a row for a couple to become "Golden" as Matt and Kelli did so the year before. Jackie Gayda would never again enter the Queen of The Ring Tournament.
