Last week on Genocide, the world was introduced to Mark Stevenson. Not much is known about Mark just yet except that he is the older brother of Matt Stevenson. This is the first chance that anyone gets to see of the surprise partner. It all opens up in the locker room. Mark is doing up his boots when Matt walks in.
Matt: Hey Mark, do you mind if I ask you something?
Mark: Certainly baby bro, shoot.
Matt: I don't want it to sounds bad, but why did you come to SKCW? I never asked you, so how did you find your way here?
Mark grins and turns to his brother.
Mark:Val spoke with me a few weeks back. He told me your seemed a bit lost in your career, as if your direction was slipping away. I didn't believe him at first, but then I started watching and realized that he was right. You needed some help. So I signed a contract and hopped on the next flight out. It was my surprise that Val managed to get us a Tag Team Title shot for Starcade.
Matt: So you didn't know anything about that?
Mark: All I knew was that I was coming to help get you back in the driver's seat and bring some credibility back to the Stevenson name. Credibility that you were trying to hard to achieve, but seemed to be just shy of reaching.
Matt: So you came to bail me out?
Mark: No, I came to help you. There's no need for me to bail you out, you just needed to refocus and you needed a new shot. Besides you have a lady that needs to know her man can stand on his own two feet,. I would never just step in and shove you in my shadow, we're a team, we're real brothers, and that's what makes us hard to beat. Because we can work together and we know how we think. So instead of wondering why I'm here and feeling like I'm saving your ass, stand up straight and accept the fact that you are in for the biggest accomplishments of your career.
Matt lets the words digest then smiles and nods.
Matt: Sounds like the Stevensons are bringing home the gold.
Mark: Too true, but first we need to deal with Scar and his midget. Wouldn't look good if the contenders for the Tag Team titles were beat by freaks from a horror movie.
The brothers laugh as the scene fades out. |
