Good habits can be our friend . . .and decluttering REGULARLY can help us SOAR. How about a Clutter Busters Club to help form that habit? I propose an "admission fee" of 10 decluttered items (tossed, donated, etc.) to join and 25 decluttered items per week to remain a member in good standing!!! Just think of it--at that rate we're talking 1300 items a year GONE forever!!! Come and join in.
I haven't posted here in awhile, but this weekend I tossed a bin full of old catalogs and paper, and have a stack of old magazines ready to take to the school.
While attacking hot spots today I did as much tossing as putting away--consequently my dues are paid. At three newspapers a day, they pile up fast, but are now in the recycling bin. I dumped a bunch of cents-off coupons--they seem to expire more quickly than they used to. I still have a backlog of magazines and newsletters--so they will be next on the list for tossing.
Paying dues this week by shredding inches of paper and greatly reducing the space devoted to files in my desk drawers, by breaking down cardboard boxes (10) and putting them into the recycling bin, and tossing another 15 newspapers into the bin, too.
I've paid dues this week. Yesterday a bag of clothes was picked up by the donation organization's truck--it's nice to have others benefit from decluttering. I've been going through magazines and tossing them into the recycling bin.
Great job, Dia, glad to have you join!!! Check out the Drawer War thread, too. You can post about the clutter you eliminate from drawers, shelves, closets, etc. It's especially nice others will benefit from your donations.
Newspapers, magazines, catalogues tossed into the recycling bin AND electronic clutter--more than 150 items from one e-mail account (not spam) went bye, bye, too.
Tomorrow is trash pick-up day, so I spent more than an hour deconstructing, cutting, and flattening cardboard boxes to put into the recycling bin. The pile was at least four feet high--yeah!!
