What to have in your closet:
At least one great fitting blazer
A denim jacket
White collared button-down shirt
Colorful V-neck tees
Solid lightweight classic sweaters (cotton)
Several classic pairs of jeans (one pair for flat shoes, one longer
pair for heels)
Several great fitting black pants (or other dark neutral)
A-line skirt (it can be black, floral printed or denim)
A "LBD" (little black dress) in a solid color (it can also be in brown
or any other neutral color) in a simple design. You can dress this up
or down by changing accessories.
Now take these wardrobe pieces and mix and match them. Be creative and
have fun! You'll be surprised how many outfits you can make. Pull out
jewelry you haven't worn in years. How about a belt or a scarf to add
in? See how many outfits you can put together! You may want to write
on a note card some of your "new" outfit combinations you've created
for each item.
Now you will start your day with less chaos by knowing what to wear.
Oh, and don't forget you can set out your new outfits the night before
too!
Building your wardrobe on basic pieces will make dressing easier and
save you money too!
