Hi everyone! I'm a bargain shopper by nature, I rarely pay full price for anything. I'm not "cheap" but I do like my bargains, especially on high quality items. :-)
So I was wondering some of your tips/tricks for saving money. I know alot of you have big families, how are you saving money with the rising gas/food prices?
For groceries I use tons of coupons and I shop at the commissary (grocery store on the army base). I got a gal. of milk last night for 2.24!! Plus I use the grocery game for other stores. One store around here had a special on General Mills cereals etc. 10 for $10!! Plus you could use coupons, so I got 10 boxes of cereal for $6. :-) So I keep my eyes peeled for good deals like that.
I shop at Kohls department store mostly. They always have sales and with their credit card you get special deals and percents off. We got $300 worth of items the other day for $170. Dh needed new slacks and shoes, I got a big Rachael Ray oval pot, etc. We pay the card off each month, so no interest fees.
Something else dh and I do....when we go out to eat sometimes we will order a bigger platter of food and split it. Not only do we save money on eating out, we eat alot less that way!
Books....I love books. Since being up here in VA I have discovered on-going library sales. There are 3-4 libraries in this area I know 2 of which have booksales going all the time. So I have picked up books for as little as 25 cents each. When I'm done with them I post them on paperbackswap.com and try to swap them for another book.
So, what do you do to save money?
