1. Drain tomatoes, reserving liquid.
2. In small saucepan, boil reserved liquid with garlic, 5 to 6 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
3. Chop tomatoes; combine with garlic mixture and basil.
4. Brush bread with oil.
5. Broil until golden. Top with tomato mixture; serve immediately. Garnish with basil leaves if desired.
