Simple Salisbury Steak

Ingredients

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Cambell's condensed cream of mushroom soup, divided
1 pound ground beef
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
Fresh parsley and halved cherry tomatoes for garnish

Procedure

1. In large bowl, mix thoroughly 1/4 cup of soup, the beef, bread crumbs, onion and egg. Shape firmly into 6 oval patties of even thickness.

2. In 10-inch skillet, over medium-high heat, in hot oil, cook half of the patties until browned on both sides. Remove; set aside. Repeat with remaining patties. Pour off fat.

3. In same skillet, stir in remaining soup and mushrooms; return patties to skillet. Reduce heat to low. Cover; cook 20 minutes or until patties are thoroughly cooked and no longer pink, turning patties occasionally.

4. Serve patties with mushroom sauce spooned over. Garnish with parsley and cherry tomatoes, if desired.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 mintues

**Turkey Salisbury Steak: Pepare Simple Salisubry Steak as directed above, except substitute 1 pound ground raw turkey for the beef and increase dry bread crumbs to 1/2 cup.

Tip: You can substitute 1 can (about 6 ounces) sliced mushrooms and 1/4 cup of mushroom liquid powder or water for the fresh mushrooms in this recipe.
