Candle Magick

The Black Candle:

It's meaning and many uses in Magickal workings 

The Black candle has gotten a bad reputation from very well meaning but misled people.  Some people believe that the color black stands for evil and negativity.  Well needless to say it does not, actually black is a very positive and lucky color.

If you will think about it, black is the combination of all colors; so in being a combination it carries a little power from each color.  A black candle is mainly used during a protection, binding, repelling or abosorption spell.  It can also be used for banishing, Crone magick, mourning, loss, meditation, feminine divine, negativity and during Samhain rituals.

It is associated with the Astrological sign of Capricorn.

Attributed to the planet Saturn.  Saturn is used for retribution and when you have been wronged.  Be careful, you may feel that you need to punish someone at once with a Hex and make him or her suffer.  Is that real power?  No.

Remember the LAW OF THREE, and avoid this tempation!  This is most probably why Saturn is a teacher.
