Common Misconceptions  

Witches are evil, worship the devil  Ok, so out of all misconceptions, I think this one angers me the most.  Although they all make me relatively upset.  Witches are NOT evil.  We are peaceful, loving, caring people who for the most part, don't want to cause trouble.  Our crede, if you haven't read it yet, maybe you should, but to sum it up.. it says that we harm none.  The devil is something that the christian religions created to instill fear in its followers.  The whole 'do this or go to hell' phrase sums it up perfectly.  There is no such thing as the devil in pagan religions, so how on earth can we worship them?  So enough of that nonsense.

Spells can fix anything, your life will be better with magic One of my petpeeves always happens when I go to a book store.  You see books with thousands of love spells and money spells.  You see books promising new and better lives if you do their spells.  This is a load of nonsense.  Nothing makes everything all better except hard work and patience and time.  Love spells are a big no no.  You are messing with someone's free will.  Anyone who says they are a witch and has no problem with doing a love spell, they are lying.  That is not what magick is for.  It is there as an aid.  To help you commune with the god and goddess.  It is not to be used for personal gain.  

Pentagrams are signs of satan  Ok, people who say this are not very intelligent.  If they would take a moment to actually LOOK at the sign of satan, they would see that yes it is a 5 pointed star, but it is upsidown.  Does it still symbolize christianity if the cross is hanging upsidown?  Am I still meaning the same thing if I hang my country's flag upsidown?  No. 

Witches are ugly, wart covered women who wear only black  Ok, so this one just makes me laugh.  I know a lot of witches, but I don't know any one who is ugly, wart covered, wearing only black pointy hats.  Witches are men AND women.  We are doctors, lawyers, vetrinarians, teachers, journalists, senators and more.  We are normal people.  You probably know a few, but don't know they are witches.  Me personally, I don't wear a lot of black.  My skin is too pale and it washes me out. 

Ok, so there are countless more... and I will research more as I come across them.  I hope this helps drown out some of those old hilarious myths.
