*Note- I wrote this when a good friend of mine was killed in a single vehicle car accident at the age of 14.
Everytime I hear the song "Who you'd be today" by Kenny Chesney, she is one of the people I think of.
You Always Led the Way
You always led the way with a smile or a frown.
You always led the way through ups and downs.
You always were the energetic one, always wanted something more to do than sit around and talk.
You always were the generous one, putting your friends problems before your own.
You always led the way to the corner hang out or the grocery store.
You were always the wise one with advise to help others out in thier times of need.
Your friend and loved ones always saw you as a leader in everything you did.
We always thought that you would lead the way for us.
You did but this time we couldn't follow you.
You went to Heaven.
He took you from us so he could use your leadership, enthusiasm and your wisdom.
Slowly, ever so slowly my heart and soul will, but never completely, mend.
