President George W. Bush Born July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut. George W. Bush is the son of former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush. George W. Bush earned a history degree from Yale University in 1968 Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University in 1975. During that time he was a pilot in the Texas Air National Guard (1968–1973). In 1978, Bush, a Republican, ran unsuccessfully for a Texas seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He advised and wrote speeches for his father's presidential campaign in 1988. He has held management positions in several firms, including the Texas Rangers baseball franchise (1989–1994). In 1994 and again in 1998, Bush was elected Governor of Texas. He and his wife, Laura, have twin girls.
