When you see a mistake, or have a problem with trivia, post it here.
I will report it to the trivia game people.

4. What modern day institution was created under Lincoln to save money for the Government thus helping fund the war effort?

The correct answer was Centralized Banking.

The idea of a central bank goes back before Alexander Hamilton.  We had central banks on several occasions prior to Lincoln's administraction.  He can hardly be credited with creating it, nor is the current federal reserve system anything like what he put in place.

Central Bank and Federal Reserve System are not one in the same. Our current system was "created" in 1913 in response to JP Morgan's role in stabilizing the recent Financial Panics. It was felt Morgan and "his people" were becoming to powerful. During Lincoln's time three Banking acts were passed, the most important one was the 1863 Act. too long to discuss, but it was the "blue print" of the eventual 1913 Act. If anyone is interested, very important readings.

Regards,

Copperhead Banker

Confedup,  This is one of the questions for today, with the answer. 1. Which one of the following was NOT invented during the American Civil war?

You correctly answered Submarine.
(report correction)
The CSS Hunley was a submarine. Is this question and answer even right? I missed it, the other day.  Teresa

The Confederates had the Hunley Sub. But subs were invented long before the WBTS.
