"Bush to seek manned flights to moon,Mars" by Dana Bash is at http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/space/01/09/bush.space/index.html .Mr. Bush will announce next week his vision for expanding the space program. NASA'S target for the moon mission is 2018. "Bush to announce return to the moon" is at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3910698/ .President Bush will unveil a new space initiative, returning humans to the moon and establishing a permanent presence there. The Moon will give us with the opportunities to develop technologies and systems, to travel to Mars or other places, later on. "Bush to Announce New Missions to Moon, Mars" is at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,107807,00.html .Bush plans to announce a permanent space station on the moon. This could serve as a base, for sending people to Mars. Observatories could be built on the Moon. Mining camps could gather helium-3 for conservation into fuel, for use on Earth. Helium-3 could be a future source of energy. The Moon is rich with it. Helium-3 Gas Description is at http://www.spectra-gases.com/PureGases/he3/helium3.htm .             An energy source that's out of this world.

If the findings of a group of scientists hold true, the world might have a potential solution to its dwindling energy supply. But there's a catch - someone will first have to figure out a way to get it off the moon. - Satyabrata Rai Chowdhuri

Lunar Helium-3 as an Energy Source, in a nutshell

China's interest in the moon and the USA'S interests in the Moon and Mars. "U.S. eyes return to the moon" is at http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/12/04/us.moon/index.html .The article talks about China's role. "White House isn't ready for the moon" by Leonard David and Brian Berger is at http://www.msnbc.com/news/1001303.asp?Odm=C25DT .The White House claims that President Bush has no plans for a policy announcement, about the space program, at this point in time. I suspect that China's interest in the moon is behind all of this. They could use it for a military base, in the future. "Dreaming Space Power - Paving the Road To 21st Century Warfare" by Richard Wall is at http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig3/wall9.html .Mr. Wall talks about NASA'S problems and the 'revolving door' between industry and government. "China Wants Manned Base on the Moon" by Patrick Goodenough is at http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2002/5/22/181737.shtml .Mr. Goodenough talks about China's interest in the Moon. Resources that may be on the moon are: iron, titanium, helium-3, water, and ice. Helium-3 is an isotope of the helium gas used in blimps. Some scientists see it, as the perfect energy source for the future. It is plentiful on the Moon, but not on Earth. China wants to survey the Moon. He also talks about China's military interests. Because of this, I look for us, to go back to the Moon. Mars, will be later on. Maybe, by that time, we will have starships that travel faster. We need to get the private sector involved in space. I do not think, that NASA can do it, given her track record. "Alternate Universe: Human Spaceflight Without NASA?" by Robert Roy Britt is at http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/moon_vision_031209.html  .The home page for "Space.com" is at http://www.space.com/  ."Plans for moon and Mars take shape" by Robert Roy Britt is at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4180676/ .NASA plans to have a lunar orbiter ready by 2008. Astronauts will return to the Moon by 2015. No timetable has been set for putting astronauts on Mars. The Private Sector Approach.
I have a series of articles that deal with getting the private sector into space and science. "Bush's Mission to Mars" by Mark Thornton is at http://www.lewrockwell.com/thornton/thornton19.html .Mr. Thornton talks about a recent debate he had on the Mars mission. He talks about the high cost, and that it would be better and cheaper, to turn space exploration, over to the private sector. "The Mars Con" by Erich Mattei is at http://www.mises.org/fullarticle.asp?control=1440 .Mr. Mattei talks about space travel. He talks about NASA, the problems and high cost, of that organization. "Why No Ocean Program?" by Tibor R. Machan is at http://www.mises.org/fullstory.asp?control=1157 .Mr. Machan talks about the problems of space and science, being funded by government. "State Science, State Truth" by Wendy McElroy is at http://www.mises.org/fullstory.asp?control=362&FS=State+Science,+State+Truth .Ms. McElroy talks about the problems of space and science, being funded by government. "The Wright Stuff" by Michael Levin is at http://www.mises.org/freemarket_detail.asp?control=25&sortorder=title .Mr. Levin talks about the private funding of science and flight. Teresa
