Confedup, Did you read the subject "John Edwards' Confederate Ancestors?" This is LightHammer's post # 17. "You want John Edwards to be the next vice-president. O Jeeze, that guy is what I call "New-South" AKA ROY BARNES. Trying to present the image of the south as a loving, peaceful place, without those nasty confederate flags, and with lots of friendly immigrants." Since LightHammer has started posting here, he has attacked me and others. What is wrong? Teresa |

Teresa. I think 'Hate Groups and their Flags' should include those who hate Dixie, from my visits to the Confederate websites it seems to me there are a lot of groups out there who detest Dixie and the Southern way of life. I don't know if these groups[I'm thinking of those who hate the Battleflag and other Confederate icons] have a flag, but they should be placed in the same bracket along with the K.K.K. |

That sounds like a great ideal. We might want to make it a different subject. The aim of this subject is to give our people, some ammo, to use against the Anti-Confederate Flag groups. Kids in school really need this information. If you have some ideals, you are welcome to start the subject. Teresa

Rebel, "I think u missed the sarcasm in that one teresa." WRONG. Hammer stated posting after you quit the forum. He started attacking me. I let him have it, everytime. Finally, he got so bad, that I told him, that if the attacks continued, I would file a complaint AGAINST him. After that, the attacks stopped. This is another case, of where, your smart remarks are uncalled for. Teresa |

Rebel, "wth ??? LOL after you threatened him. Listen that was not the reason. I kno lighthammer and that is not why he left, he got busy." I WARNED him that I would file a complaint AGAINST him, if he continued to attack me. I DO NOT care, if he NEVER comes back. "and that WAS sarcasm, how do i kno? cuz i kno the author of the post. let him have it? give me a break rofl." I DO NOT care what you and Hammer think. If you DO NOT like my posts or subjects, then DO NOT read them. I am TIRED of your smart remarks. Grow up! Teresa |

The Klan started using the ANV battle flag/Navy Jack in the late 1950s.
If you think the KKK is not worth the time then you are blind. Even a small group with a long, prominent history can provide the press/NAACP, etc., with all of the images and words they need to paint ALL of us as sheet-wearing coward.
If you do not want to oppose their desecration of Confederate flags and symbols you are one of three things:
Undeniably stupid
A Klan sympathizer
A Klansman

Starfish, Not to make you mad, but when the KKKstarted using the Confederate flag is not right. It started during Reconstruction in Tn. when the Confederates were trying to rid the South of Carpetbaggers. I have it written down, as I looked it up myself once out of curiosity. I wanted to see when they started using the Naval Jack for the KKK. The above staement about the use is true. And they used the name of the Klan to do their misdeeds. It escalated from there. Because of this fact the Naval Jack never flies at our house. We are not racists! We only fly the Battle Flag. Hope in now knowing this that you do the same. I wish everyone did only use the Battle Flag. Sincerely, Leslie Cook Sec. of NCSOCR, Taylorsville, NC Chapter #27 Southern Cross |

If the Confederate Naval Jack/Battle Flag is racists, then so it the US Flag. See pictures in the other posts and websites. "Are you blind? Or just refusing to see?" "A big amen to that" Can you copy and paste, the posts, that you are commenting on? Teresa |

" name=QSM.item.start> Big surprise. There continues to be controversy in South Carolina surrounding Confederate Memorial Day: In May 2000, Hodges signed the bill to create the Confederate holiday for state workers on May 10 while also recognizing the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with a state holiday. The law eliminated the Election Day holiday and a floating holiday for state workers.
With the passage of the bill, South Carolina was the last state in the nation to recognize fully the King holiday as a day off for state workers.
The NAACP, which was seeking to have the Confederate flag removed from the Statehouse dome at the time, wanted Hodges to veto the bill.
Opponents continue to say the Confederate flag is a symbol of racism and slavery, while proponents say the flag is a symbol of Southern heritage. It's been over 140 years since the end of Lincoln's illegal war, and yet there are still people who seek to reconstruct not only the South, but American history itself. Slavery existed under the U.S. flag for almost 90 years (1776-1865), but under the Confederate flag for only four (1861-1865). And Old Glory has its own history of being desecrated by the dregs of society: Can someone please explain to me why the Confederate flag is always the one singled out for demonization? Maybe those who think it is a racist symbol should take a look at this video. Labels: Dixie, States' Rights <META name=QSM.item.end> - posted by Lee Shelton | 0 comment(s)
