How to link to another page or post in MSN
To link to another page:
STEP1
.Go to the page you want to link to.
.Highlight the Web address at the top of the page. (You can include the http://)
.Make sure you highlight the whole thing.
.Press "Ctrl + C" on your keyboard (this will take a copy of the address for you).
STEP2
.Go to wherever it is you want to paste the link, i.e. in a post/message.
.Type the word you want to use for your link, i.e. HERE
.If you want to use two words, you have to type them as one word. You can separate them later, i.e. CLICKME
.Put your cursor at the beginning of the word,
.Press down the "Shift" key on your keyboard and press the right arrow key until you get to the end of the word.
.Your word should now be highlighted.
STEP3
.Look at the tool bar above this post.
.There is a "Global Link" icon. It is a blue globe (ball) with a little chain link at the bottom of it.
Here is a screenshot in which I have the "Global Link" icon circled in red.
.Click on that "Global Link" icon.
.You will get the following drop down box:
.Place your cursor in the blank box to the right of the "http://"
.Press your "Ctrl + V" keys on your keyboard (this will paste a copy of the Web address you highlighted earlier.)
.Click on "Insert".
.MSN will now insert that link into the word you typed. Your word should now be "lit up" (in blue, most likely) and underlined. Like this:
.You're finished inserting a link in a word.
. If you typed two words instead of one, i.e. CLICKME, this is where you can separate the two words by adding a space in between "CLICK" and "ME".
.Or delete the word "ME" altogether by backspacing over it.
.You can also replace the word "ME" with "HERE" by typing the word HERE immediately after the word "CLICK" and then adding a space in between afterwards.
.**The link will only become effective once you hit "Send Message" or you "save" the page you're working on.
. Click on "Send Message" (or "Save" if you are making or editing a page).
.To test it, go back to the message you just posted and click on the link.
.It should take you to the page you wanted to link to.

To link to a "Specific" Message/Post:
."Right" click on the "Message and #" of the post you want to link to, i.e. Message 10
.Click on "Copy Shortcut". That will save a copy of the address of that particular message for you.
.Repeat the above instructions starting from STEP2.
.To test your link, click on the link after you've posted your message.
.You should be taken directly to the message you linked to.

To apply a link to a graphic:
. Follow the same instructions as above, starting from STEP 2 (Don't bother to save a copy of the webpage you want to link to yet. We'll do that later.)
.When you get to the part in the instructions where you type in a word in your message... post your graphic instead.
.Highlight your graphic by clicking on it or dragging your mouse over it.
.Click on the "Global Link" in the top toolbar.
.Now you can go to the page you want to link to, highlight and copy that address (Ctrl + C).
.Come back to your Global Link Drop Down Box and paste the address in the blank box to the right of the "http://" just like you did for linking a word above.
.Click on "Insert".
.Your graphic is now linked to the page you wanted to link to.
. Click "Send Message", etc.
.To test your link, go back to the message you just posted and click on your graphic.
.It should take you to the page you wanted to link to.
