It's not something we like to think about... but we will not be on this earth forever.   And while not everyone has the same beliefs or views about what happens after our body dies.... the end is the same for everybody... we are no more a part of this world, this form of living.   You will be leaving here... are you ready?

Some are blessed to be able to know of their time of departure, so they have time to 'settle their affairs'.  But not everyone is that fortunate.   How quickly, easily, and flippantly do we say.... "ohhhh... I'll just do that tomorrow.."  Says who?   Who told you you would have tomorrow???

So many times I've let my dishes go... to do 'tomorrow'...only to get up and find the apartments had to turn off the water for one reason or another... and I stand there at the sink and think... "Man... I should have done them last night!!"   And we've all had our share of plans messed up because a car wouldn't start, or we had a flat tire....or the washing machine broke down,  the commode backed up... and on and on.   Our 'plans' get waylayed, stalled, totally denied.  We 'thought' we were going to do it tomorrow... whatever the 'it' may be... but then tomorrow gets here, or not....

The prospect of Lili coming here, and maybe destroying my home, my possessions, my dreams, my plans... for tomorrow... forced me to get my focus on TODAY!   The prospect of not being able to do tomorrow what I could do today... made me shift my priorities and change their order.  It made me have to pack and get ready to take a trip.  It made the trip the main focus.   Suddenly... all the craft ideas, the recipes to try, to cleaning to do, the fall decorating, the books to read, the tv shows to watch, the sales business to run, everthing in my life... became non-existent.   I had to get ready to take a trip.   I had to get ready to leave.

I had time to do that... this time.   But at some point I'll be taking another trip.  I will leave this life as I know it to be today.

Am I ready.  No.   As a believer of the faith of being a 'born again Christian' my soul is ready...  but ... I'm not ready.   My affairs are not in order.   Heck, my whole life is not in order.   And the thought of hurricane winds blowing the zillion pieces of paper in my office to smitherenes from one end of this street to another... really, really made me get my focus changed.  DO IT NOW!... there may not be a tomorrow.

Whatever it is you want to do... you better strive to do it now!   Whatever accomplishments you want to pack into your 'This was my life'  bags, you better get them done so you can put them in there.  Whatever relationships you want to experience... you better start experiencing them now so you can put them in there.  Whatever family memories you want to pack you better get them done so you can put them in your travel bags.

You have a trip to pack for.   We all do.

Every day... strive to pack something away.   If you keep putting it off until the last minute... always counting on being able to do it, say it, see it, or create it... tomorrow.... you could make the trip with fairly empty bags.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.  Why do we live like it is???

I pray that when the time comes...your suitcases are bulging with your full life.

Do it now.  Do it today.  Just do it.  Stop counting on tomorrow....besides,  you already have today... so why not just go ahead and use it and live it instead?  .

Goodness.....  just came by to visit and see what it was I had written.. and Im so glad I read this again.  I really needed to hear this messages again myself.  How quickly and easily we can get lulled into complacency and lose that sense of urgency and need to 'do it now'.   Gosh I'm glad I wrote this...lol.

And again, glad I had an opportunity to read this again.  I needed it, again.
