It 'seems' kind of confusing... but once you get the hang of it, it's ok
 
The only difference is that while it looks like you are applying for a new "address"...  when  you type it in, you do not add .com at the end....
 
you type...  .net.
 
Example:   junesphotos at hotmail.net
 
that is the only difference.  
 
It creates a "sign-in" name/passport...  but does
not create an actual e-mail address for getting and sending mail.

.... I won't.  It'll stay forever.... or until MSN blows up and crashes.. whichever
comes first...lol.
