Thats all i ever do, self checkout lanes, i can check the prices there on each item. Found some mistakes often. I dont like crowded stores either. Hate when they stock merchandise on days.

..... I almost went to the store earlier to do some
middle of the night shopping, but sat at my desk journaling good thoughts instead.

I was going to skip turkey this year, and get a ham instead... but I still think about turkey... and time is running out to get a frozen one thawed out in time...

There was a thing on tv recently about the need to check to
make sure the machines were scanning the right prices.  So
good for you for catching the mistakes....   I never bothered
to before... but guess I better start paying more attention!

Gotta get to bed!....

Love you Sylvia.. and appreciate you.

...Love that turkey gif...lol.  I had to save that one.

I dont know if New Zealand has a 'thanksgiving' type holiday or not.  Not everyone does.   Only ones I know about are Canada and us. I remember how weird it felt the first time I realised not everyone
celebrates "our" holiday...lol.

Your message up there really blessed me Sylvia...  it reminded me of why I started this place to begin with.   I'm glad it is fun for you... that makes it all worth it to me. .. and gives me a boost of encouragement to keep at it.   I've been feeling pretty down and discouraged with all this new stuff to learn... and on some days I have doubted if I'd even keep doing it.   I had forgotten what was
most fun for me too... till you mentioned that it was fun for you.

To be honest... I realise now that I had pretty much forgotten about having fun! All I've been focused on for a year is surviving and keeping my home and keeping my head... or at least my nose above water.

It is time for me to get back to FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

And one that is fun for me is making my home
look nice, so I will be having fun getting my
boxes etc out of here over the next few weeks
and decorating.   But... I will also now make a
determined effort to do some other fun things!

For now.. it's nap time.   Thank you Sylvia.

 Thank you Jeni...

Well.... I went shopping after work and spent $50 at
the grocery store.   Got a ham for about $10.. it was on
sale for 99 cents a pound.

It was totally crazy at Walmart!!... they were out of
a lot of things... sugar was spilled on the floor.... what a mess.

I was shocked.I have never bought Thanksgiving food this late.... and so always assumed everyone got their groceries early like I  had done in the past.  NOT.... and this is the day  before!... at about 9 pm....

Went to another grocery store, that is not as well shopped
as Walmart... and they still had everything.

Finished up with a few things at a 3rd store... and decided
to treat myself to a bottle of wine...  have not bought one
in many months.

Not sure when I'll cook it all....  ham, pumpkin pies, and
a rice/broccoli/cheese casserole.... since I'm going to go do
some work at the store tomorrow while it is quiet with no
customers.   But... that is the good thing about no company -
I can do it whenever I want...lol.  Michael will be at his dad's
most of the afternoon.... so no schedule to the day at all,
and that is how I like it.

Night night.... I'll check in sometime tomorrow.

My thanksgiving day...

I went to bed at 1 am.

I was at work at 7:30 am.

I came home at 11 am.... made the
pumpkin pies, and put the ham in
the oven.

Went back to work at the store at 1:30 pm.

Came back home at 3 pm... to check on
and finish the ham... adding the glaze etc.

Went back to work at the store at 4 p.m.

Came home at 6 p.m.

My son was home, sat and visited with
him a short while...

Got in the kitchen and made the rice/broc/cheese
casserole, and also fixed the canned sweet
potatoes in a dish to bake in the over with the
casserole.

Then enjoyed eating some of it, and also a few
more small slices of pie too..

It's 11:22... been reading on the computer, and I
am now going to bed.   Have to be at work at 9.

Son has to go to Target at midnight....to get ready
for the "day after" sales.

I'm letting him take the car.... and I hope I sleep
like a baby.    Hmmm.... never did drink any of
my wine!... oh well, I'll do that tomorrow.

That was a very hectic day for you Grace. Not for me, somebody else was cooking, i enjoyed that. Visited with friends and family, but went home early and watched reruns on the TV. Went to bed early, since i didnt sleep too well the night before. Heidi seems to be better, i was worried about her. She is not herself. Just rests and eats. She slept on the bottom of my bed so i could keep an eye on her. Sylvia
