I stand before the mirror each day, And squinting, wonder what to say. Then comes to me this bit of truth, I was much thinner in my youth.
In days gone by I had more hair. I had more muscles everywhere. But now I flex, in boyish pose, Still wondering why this tummy grows.
Oh well, I say, it's not so bad. I've still got teeth. That makes me glad. And, blessed I am to see this sight. At least I'm standing here, upright.
And then, I look into those eyes That look right back, with no disguise. Then, I remember what to say, As I begin another day.
Come on, let's go. Let's wash that face. Let's greet this day with warm embrace. It's time to bend our knee to pray And give thanks for this awesome day.
