Which high school at one time was the largest in the country.  For extra credit, how many students  (to the nearest thousand).

The student population at DeWitt C was about 6,000 when I graduated in 1963.

Herb, I wonder if some of the same students were there during your tenure and mine!

De-Witt-C-L-I-N-T-O-N boom.

Marty, you were still in diapers when I graduated Clinton.

The 6,000 may be wrong; I may have recalled incorrectly.  In 1934 there were 12,000 students and it was the largest then.  In the 1963 Guiness Book of records it is listed as the largest high school in the world.

I still have my Clinton Redbook and football pin.

I remember the ditty:
Dewitt C, your b-lls are up a tree. It was stupid, but that is what we sang.

De-Witt-C-L-I-N-T-O-N

BOOM!!!

Clinton, oh Clinton
Ever to thee
Fairest of high schools
Give her three times three, oh fellows
Long may we cherish thee
Faithful we'll be
Clinton, oh Clinton
For you and me!

I don't know if an English translation is available.

Then maybe he can. . . .

1. Do the "BOOM" part with feeling.

2. Explain just what the hell "three times three" means.

If your husband had gone to Clinton, I'm sure he'd remember being there. . .but little else.
