#1  Betsy Blair (Clara in "Marty") was married to a song and dance man from MGM musicals...can you name him?

#2  Can you name MGM's highest grossing musical of all time?

#3   Frances Gumm and Joe Yule Jr. were two of MGM's biggest musical stars what were their stage names?

#4  In "Singing In the Rain"  the water in the rain scene was actually mixed with something else to make it more visible on screen.  Do you know what it was?

#5  In the movie "Summer Stock", people new the last scene with Judy Garland singing "Get Happy" was filmed months after the first part of the movie.  How did they know?

#6  Most people think that the different black and white and color scenes were done for effect in "The Wizard of Oz", not so.  The new technicolor cameras and equipment were being used on another set at the time, and Wizard had to be shot partially in black and white.  Do you know what the other movie was?

More later.

Me, me!  I had my hand up first!

2.  "Meet me in St. Louis"

3.  Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney

4.  Glycerine?

5.  Judy was no longer pregnant.

Now riddle me this:  What do Judy Garland, her daughter Liza and her mother all have in common as to their first marriages?

2.    Sorry Jake, it was "That's Entertainment"

3.   Is correct Frances Gumm is Judy Garland, and Joe Yule Jr. is Mickey Rooney.

4.  They added milk to the water.

5.  Well she wasn't pregnant, but she did lose a whole lot of weight.

I think you a referring to the fact that they all married gay men.  But Judy's first husband was David Rose (composer of the song "The Stripper" and the "Bonanza"
theme) not Vincente Minelli.  Vincente was her second husband.

I will not answer the rest of the questions just in case someone else wants to take a stab at it.

You got it, Rita.  Three generations of women married gay men.  I wonder why was that?

1.  Betsy Blair was married to Gene Kelly.

6.  The technicolor equipment was being used by "GWTW", which was a massive undertaking at the time.  They decided since Oz would only have the equipment for a short time, they would do the Kansas scenes in black and white, so they filmed the color scenes first, shipped over the equipment and finished up the picture by doing the black and white shots last.

I've read alot of biographies on Judy Garland, and apparently her dad was not a very overt homosexual, you really couldn't tell by his actions or appearance.  Maybe Mom Gumm was geniunely fooled for a long time.  On the other hand, Vincente Minelli and Peter Allen (along with Liza's third husband David Gest) were and are
pretty flamboyant, would be pretty hard not to pick up on it.
