I still think the price is too high!

From the NY Post....

The Yankees are inviting fans to watch Derek Jeter play for Babe Ruth prices.

Bleacher seats for exhibition games at the new Yankee Stadium on April 3 and 4 will sell for 25 cents - the same price fans paid to see the Bambino wallop a home run to christen the original Stadium in 1923.

The team is offering the 98 percent discount off the usual $14 for the 5,000 bleacher seats in honor of the first two games played at the new ballpark, both against the Chicago Cubs.

In addition, 11,000 grandstand seats will be sold for the 1923 price of $1.10.

Season-ticket holders will get free seats to the two games, team officials said.

In the late 1950s, bleacher admission was 50 cents. And the round-trip subway fare to and from The Stadium was 30 cents.

Those were the days...

The Yankees used to advertise ladies day with the slogan, "mom and daughter, each for a quarter."  We had lots of fun with that one.

People already pay a helluva lot more than 25 cents to watch the Chicago Cubs.

A chunk of that goes to the governor.

And the state gets its share in tax revenue as well.

"mom and daughter, each for a quarter."

Only in Noo Yawk would that rhyme.

Another example of verse that would rhyme only in Noo Yawk...

From "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel...

"And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more."
