NO POLITICS! Do you have any nice personal memories from 2008? Such as a marriage, the birth of a child, a new pet, a new home, a new car, etc, etc, etc.... |

We have truly been blessed in '08 In May we welcomed our 6th grand child into the family...another boy...that's 5 boys and 1 girl now. In Nov our son who served in Iraq married and we were told at Christmas they are expecting next year August. Our basset hound of 15yrs died this year and our 20 year old who has never not had a dog bought himself a designer mutt who is just so funny. We've had several health scares this year which have all turned out for the best. So all in all '08 has had more positives than negatives. |

We had a few nice things- my mom turned 80 in April of 2008 and we had a suprise party for her. The miracle was she never found out anything about it! My son graduated high school in June, my daughter started nursing school in Sept. John went on a business trip to Chicago and met up with Marty, Kish and Jake. Other than that, we are kissing the year goodbye, most of it sucked. |

2008- or actually the very end of 2007- was when I retired from my job of many years and began devoting full time to endeavors which, while not as remunerative, are much more rewarding on a personal level. |

Actually, 2008 sucked big time for me. I lost my ex-wife's mother, a best friend and my job. My son developed kidney stones and my youngest daughter has massive migraines. My SF Giants and Washington Redskins, as well as UMASS football teams sucked. I am running out of unemployment. 2009 doesn't even look as promising as 2008 was. |

Marty, thanks for reminding me how lucky my family really is. Although things were very bad for many months, we still had food, clothing, shelter, and most important, each other. |

My son Paul got married in June in Tucson where he lives. His new wife Morgan is a lovely girl and she has a great family who are crazy about Paul. We were all able to make it to the wedding, which means that I had my three sons together for the first time in about 6 years. I was also able to comfortably do something that I've always wanted to do: sing karaoke! |
