Were you , or some one you knew, born somewhere other than in a hospital?
Our neighbor gave birth to her first child, a boy, in the living room of her house while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

One woman I know gave birth in the front seat of her car with a one year old in a car seat in the back.  The paramedics just did not get to her in time.

I was born on a bayou,
Born on a bayou. . .

Like a true nature's child,
we were born, born to be wild.

Oh why oh why was it my fate
To be born too late.

Actually, I born at the long-gone Jewish Memorial Hospital, 190-something Street & Broadway in Manhattan.

And I was born the next of kin
The next of kin
To the wayward wind. . .

Frank, you're singing my from one of my favorite albums....My dad was born at home, my mother was born in Lincoln Hospital.  I was born at St. Francis Hospital, which I believe no longer exists.

I  was born in a cross-fire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain,
But it's all right now, in fact, it's a gas!
But it's all right. I'm Jumpin' Jack Flash,
It's a gas! Gas! Gas!

Spoken like a true street fightin' man who can't get no satisfaction.  You can't always get what you want; but if you try sometime you just might find you can get what you need.
