Today we the family of Notre Dame High School in East Stroudsurg said good bye to a family member. Mr. Gormley was know for his commitment to the students and helping them become all they could be. Never too busy for a student or parent. He was refered to as "The Man"...the jingling of his keys always heralded his arrival. He was tough but fair. Parents, graduates showed up all weekend to pay their respects. It was a wonderful send off. NYPD was represented as was the Marines. He was assigned at one point to 103rd. We found out at his passing he was involved with the Son of Sam case. Seems my boys knew (remember disciplinarian) but my daughter didn't. How ironic my son a medic was on the call...he was devestated. When our son came back from Iraq he went to see Mr. Gormely as he promised he would. We will miss him! http://www.legacy.com/PoconoRecord/DeathNotices.asp?Page=SearchResults Gormley, John Denis | | | John Denis Gormley, 59, of Saylorsburg, died suddenly on Friday, Nov. 2, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
