Our grandma has been gone more than 40 years, but I still think of her often.
She was simple yet sophisticated. . .humble yet self-assured. . .a good Jewish lady who wouldn't answer the phone on the Sabbath and would refuse to ride to shul. . .but who didn't go to shul all that often. . .and the best damned kosher Hungarian cook in the entire galaxy!!!
She had one very important thing in common with all grandmas everywhere. . .
She was one of a kind. |
