Here are two photos that I took today of downtown Jonesborough, TN.  I don't live in Jonesborough, I live in Johnson City, but Jonesborough is the next town over.  I drove through several weeks ago, just after the war started and didn't get back until today to take the photos.  I thought that some here might find these photos uplifting in light of recent stories that have come out where municipalities were against showing support and patriotism for our country.  I want to point out, since it can't be read on the photo, that there is a banner above the door of the courthouse that reads "We Support Our Troops."

Hi Marty,

Yes, it does seem unlikely, but it's a move I've never regretted.  Northeast TN is a great place to live.  The people are friendly, the pace is slow, the climate is great.  We have short Winters with very little snow, beautiful early Springs, Summers that are not too hot with cool evenings and long and pretty Autumns.  The mountains are gorgeous, the crime is low and the medical facilities are very good.  A lot of people are retiring here and many who have retired to the warmer climates are moving here to escape the heat.  OK, I'll stop my sales pitch, lol

Have a nice weekend, Marty.

Hi Mike,

Yes, it is a very lovely place.

If I am right, Mike, I remember that when you relocated recently, you did not divulge where you moved to.  Are you ready to do that yet, or at least will you tell me if you are nearby to where I am in NE TN?  Just curious.

On the contrary, Marty, I am still very much the Yankee fan, especially when they are in the series against Atlanta, since that is the team that the people here follow.  Major league baseball is not that big down here, there are some local minor league teams that the people are more into, it seems.  The big sport down here is college football, people are absolutely crazy for the Tennessee Vols of UT.
