In 1959, Larry Sherry played a starring role. 1963 and 1965, as one might expect, featured Sandy Koufax. In 1961, the Reds won a game 15-5 or something like that, but the Yanks won the other games. Backing up one year, in 1955 Johhny Podres won the 7th game to give the Brooklyn Dodgers their long awaited title.

Here's an interesting piece of nonsense information....William Frawley (Fred Mertz on I Love Lucy) was an avid Yankee fan...so much so, that he had a clause written in his contract, that if the Yanks were ever in the World Series, he would be able to take off and be at the Series, forgoing any filming of the tv show.......Seven out of Nine seasons found Bill sitting in a box at the Stadium.
