Remember Oscar Gamble, who played for the Yankees, White Sox, Indians, Phillies and Cubs? He had an afro taller than some buildings. When he joined the Yankees, he had to get rid of it to comply with the team's grooming policy. Published reports said the haircut cost $75 in 1976 dollars.

Oscar's problem was that it had to go under his hat.  It made him look like Bozo.  Artis and Ben have no excuse for that wildness.
