The Yankees and the Mets have clinched first place in their respective divisions. . .the first time that has ever happened in the same season!

Now all New York eyes are looking ahead to another subway series. . .

Considering that possibility, I have once again been inspired to explore the lists of people who have played for, managed or otherwise been associad with both teams. My top-of-head list follows. Please add any that I didn't think of:

General Manager--George Weiss
Trainer--Gus Mauch
Broadcasters---Tim McCarver, Tom Seaver
Managers---Casey Stengel, Yogi Berra, Dallas Green, Joe Torre
Coach---Mel Stottlemyre
Players---David Cone, Dwight Gooden, Kenny Rogers, Ralph Terry, Doc Medich, Tom Sturdivant, Frank Tanana, John Candelaria, Bob Ojeda, Jeff Reardon, Armando Benitez, Jesse Orosco, Wally Whitehurst, Bob Friend, Hal Reniff, Ray Burris, Dick Tidrow, Rob Gardner, Yogi Berra, Jesse Gonder, John Olerud, Marv Throneberry, Sandy Alomar Sr, Willie Randolph, Miguel Cairo, Rey Sanchez, Jose Vizcaino, Robin Ventura, Charlie Smith, Lenny Randle, Darryl Strawberry, Ron Swoboda, Lance Johnson, Lee Mazzilli, Billy Cowan, Elliott Maddox, Gene Woodling, Claudell Washington, Roy Staiger, Tucker Ashford, Terrence Long, Darren Bragg, Duke Carmel, Mike Stanton.

I will root for the team that has the most civil players.  Can someone give me a clue which team has the most nice guys?

Uhh uhh, Jake. Casey Stengel never played for the Yankees.

He played for the Giants and maybe for the Dodgers. He managed the Dodgers, the Boston Braves, the Yankees and the Mets.

He is the only man to have appeared in the uniforms of the New York Giants, the Brooklyn Dodgers, the New York Yankees and the New York Mets as either a player or a manager.
