Lemon-Pepper Cheese Roll This very simple cheese ball is a snap to make and is wonderful on crackers or with vegetables. I particularly like it served with crisp slices of fennel and red pepper.
8 ounces cream cheese 2 cloves minced garlic 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives 1 teaspoon fresh basil 1 teaspoon caraway seed 1 teaspoon dill weed coarsely ground black pepper finely grated lemon rind
Beat cheese until creamy. Stir in the garlic, chives, basil, caraway seeds and dill until mixed well. In a small bowl, mix together the black pepper and lemon rind. Form the cheese mixture into a ball, then roll in the lemon pepper.
