Terry Bradshaw's Meaty Beans Ingredients 8 ounces bacon, chopped 12 ounces lean ground beef one 16-ounce can lima beans, drained and rinsed one 16-ounce can beans with pork 1/2 cup chopped celery 1 medium onion, finely chopped 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tablespoon prepared mustard 1 tablespoon vinegar 1/2 cup ketchup Procedure In a large skillet set over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until it is just crisp. Drain off the fat, and to the skillet add the beef, cooking until it just loses its colour, but is not browned. Add the lima beans, the beans with pork, the celery, and the onion, and cook until the celery is softened. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat combine the Worcestershire sauce, the brown sugar, the mustard, the vinegar, and the ketchup, and cook, stirring, until heated through. Pour the bean mixture into a casserole dish, and pour the sauce over, mixing well. Bake the beans in the middle of a preheated 350`F oven for 1 hour. Serving Information |
