Position a broiler rack about 4 inches from the heat souece, and preheat the broiler. In a large bowl combine the molasses, the bourbon, the scallions, the oil, the vinegar, the soy sauce, the garlic, and the thyme. Add the steak, turning to coat, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour, turning once. Place the steak on a rack set in a broiler pan and broil, turning once, for 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
