FRUIT & CREAM CHEESE FILLED FRENCH TOAST | | From: Norbert K. F., Combined Locks | 3 eggs-beaten well 1/4 c. evaporated milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. salt 6 slices of white bread 1 4oz. cream cheese (softened) 1-10 0Z. Cherry Pie Filling or any fruit pie filling 1 T Butter
| Spread cream cheese on three slices of bread. Put cherry pie filling (or other flavor) on other three slices of bread. Sandwich together one cream cheese slice to one cherry slice. Beat first six ingredients together in a flat bowl. Dip sandwiches in beaten ingredients just as you would regular french toast. Fry slowly in the butter until brown on both sides. Serve hot. Dust with powdered sugar, granulated sugar, or syrup. Double the recipe to feed 6.
