How to make a

Mask.

This is one way.

Open a 400 x 400 canvas.

Create a template style tagback.

You can use bright colors with contrast or simply go plain.  Play with it and see which you prefer.

Use

accents or brushes or scrap elements or filters or flowers or frames or preset shapes or special effects or textures or whatever you think will work.

No copyrighted material.

If saving as a PNG -when the tagback is complete, merge visible. go to "adjust" - then "hue and saturation".  Set hue and saturation on 0.

If saving as a JPEG, set your hue and saturation on 0 and then merge flatten.

You can test each one by opening a new canvass and playing with it.

Save your new mask and play.

(( This is an explanation from Taz, in other groups I am in, thanks Taz ))
