Fireesin

Land of Origin: The Isle of Man.

Other Origins: None known.

Other Names: Farm Faeries, The Harvesters.

Element: Earth.

Appearance and Temperament: The Fireesin (Fear-ee-sheen) are solitary faeries who help farmers.

They are nude, covered with patches of brown, coarse hari, and in general are not very physically appealing.

They seem to want to be of service to humans, but they are not known for being very bright.

Time Most Active: Spring, summer, and autumn.
It is believed that they hibernate through winter.

Lore: The Fireesin's agricultural help is not always welcome because they are not known for their intelligence, but they are well-meaning.

Do not express offense at their nudity unless you wish them to be hurt and offended and leave your service.

Of course they will not leave in peace, and your crops (which in this case may be a metaphor for spiritual harvesting) could be devastated in their angry wake.

Where to Find Them: In fields that are either about to be cultivated or harvested.

How to Contact: Watch for them to appear, and then ask them if you may approach as a friend.

Magickal and Ritual Help: Undetermined.
