Drakes

Land of Origin: England.

Other Origins: None known.

Other Names: None known.

Element: Fire.

Appearance and Temperament: Drakes have never been seen by human eyes, but they have been smelled.

They are benevolent house spirits who will bless your hearth and multiply and keep your firewood dry in exchange for living in your home.

Time Most Active: From nightfall until just past dawn.

Lore: Drakes are very kindly, and not one of them has been known to react negatively to human mistreatment.

If they are not welcomed, they just leave. The only drawback to a Drake is that they do not smell good at all.

The odor they produce has been described as a cross between rotten eggs and a dirty chicken coop.

Where to Find Them: In Wood Piles, at hearthsides, and in deep woods with very old trees. They prefer rural areas.

How to Contact: Invite them to your hearth and they will probably come. Leave food and provide warmth and respect to keep them.

If you don't have a fireplace in your home, then provide one for yourself and them in your astral home.

Magickal and Ritual Help: Aside from helping provide you with dry firewood, a Drake can lend energy to any spell done in the fireplace, which makes their capacity to aid you almost unlimited.
