Brown Men

Land of Origin: Cornwall.

Other Origins: Scotland.

Other Names: Moor Men is a less commonly used term.

Element: Fire.

Appearance and Temperament: Brown Men are short, thin male faieries who protect the animal life on Cornwall's Bodmin Moor.

They have a sparse thatch of copper red hair on their heads, have long plump arms, and dress in the brown and withered foliage of the moors.

They do not appear to dislike humans, but avoid them whenever possilbe.

Time Most Active: All year.

Lore: Brown Men are cousins of the Scottish Brownies. Because they shun human contact, little is known about them.

Where to Find Them: On Bodmin Moor.

How to Contact: Call to them and tell them you are a friend who sympathizes with their mission, or take to them an animal who needs help.

Approach with caution, because little is known about their termperament, but chances are they are friendly - just very shy.

Magickal and Ritual Help:Undetermined, but they may lend energy to spells to protect or heal animals.
