Keeping Your Engine Running in Prime Condition
By Hunters_Moon

Hello everyone! How are you? As you know, we are following the psychic development course as laid out by T. Lobsang Rampa in his book You Forever. If you remember, last week we talked about the etheric, the aura and the auric sheath. We discussed the colors that comprise of the aura, how the aura is actually laid out and ways of seeing the aura.

How many of you tried to see the aura this week? Did you find it easier or clearer using some of the methods we discussed? Do you find the colors clearer the more you practice? Have you noticed a difference between the auras of a man? Woman? Child?

I would encourage you all the continue practice seeing the auras and the etheric as the next step within the course is to study astral projection and how to successfully accomplish astral traveling. I have, however, decided that for tonight we will take a rest from the psychic development and focus tonight's class on a more earthly realm ?our bodies.

Please note, that I am not a doctor nor do I have any medical training. This is simply my opinion and beliefs when it comes to my health. These are ideas that I have come across that may improve overall health and vitality, but only you can be the judge of what is right for you. And when you are sick obviously you should see a doctor. You should use common sense and decide what is right for you; I am just posing some ideas and concepts to further our knowledge and understanding.

What gave me the idea of this class was when we discussed the appearance of an illness within the auric colors preceding physical manifestation. We all know different techniques for clearing our aura, our energies or our minds of negative vibrations but how much do we know of similar techniques for our physical bodies? Holistic health, our environment, etc. are all issues that concern us and affect our metaphysical practices because ultimately everything vibrates and if Mother Earth is vibrating badly then it would be understandable that would affect us. So I figured we could delve into some holistic health ideas as well as environmentally friendly recipes to apply to our external surroundings and environment while we practice our metaphysical studies internally.

According to what I have read, the human body vibrates on a specific frequency, and is naturally an alkaline pH when in good health. I have been told that the frequency of a human being is similar to the earth's frequency which I found quite interesting. Apparently Mother Earth hums or vibrates according to science but then those studying the esoteric have known that for some time.

However, when illness appears, it seems that the body's vibration has changed and the pH has become acidic. It is my understanding that an acidic pH in the body is an environment conducive to the growth of illness and disease.

One way illness can be defined is as a disharmony that interferes with the proper vibration of the human body thus resulting in disease. Since vibration is in thoughts, the aura, the body, food, etc. it is conceivable to infer that disease is a vibration that is not in alignment with the body, the aura, etc. Or that disease has a vibration that interferes or alters healthy vibrations. Remember, ultimately everything vibrates whether it is sound, light, molecules, etc.

This would make sense and explain why illness appears in the aura before appearing in the body. A disruptive vibration occurs in the aura causing that gray tone we discussed in the last class and after existing for an extended period of time within the aura which surrounds, fills and inhabits the same space as our bodies it makes sense that it would eventually affect the physical vehicle of our spirits.

According to the book I am reading by Kevin Trudeau, disease or illness can be put into two categories. One - disease can be a virus or bacteria that you 'pick up' through contact; or two - it can be something that actually develops within the body. This would parallel metaphysical concepts of negative energy affecting our psyche and auras. Often we come into contact with people whom we prefer not to be close to because of their energy patterns or aura, etc. and find that energy clings to us (kind of like a bacteria or virus ?something I'm sure they won't appreciate being compared to) or we find becoming ill due to emotional or physical trauma that creates a deep impact on our psyche, energy patterns, etc. but the impact deepens over time (like a developing disease).

Now, if your body is in good condition, then when you come into contact with a bacteria or virus your body does what it was naturally designed to do ?it fights off the invading element or you become sick for a small amount of time until your body fights off the offending contagion. In metaphysical realms we often use shielding (like white blood cells). The second way a disease occurs is by developing within the body (hence it appears in the aura before manifesting in the physical).

According to his book, Kevin Trudeau says it is a fact that the body is naturally alkaline in pH but when it becomes acidic in pH it becomes an environment conducive to the growth and development of disease. He does say that this acidic condition needs to be present for an extended period of time before disease develops (i.e. that is doesn't happen instantly the moment the pH changes).

However, my question is what causes the body to turn acidic?

According to his book, Kevin Trudeau says that one of the first things that cause the body to turn acidic is toxins in the environment. Our bodies are designed to remove the toxins, however, when the toxins become more than the body can handle then the body cannot remove all the toxins efficiently. In this day and age, we are exposed to more toxins than ever before (i.e. pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, colorings, artificial sweeteners, etc.).

Another cause he says that makes the body acidic is nutritional deficiencies. I believe that the food we eat only has a portion of the healthy benefits they had fifty years ago due to soil depletion, chemicals in the soil, too many crops, etc. and I can understand that the food doesn't contain as many health benefits as years ago because the environment is changing.

A third cause is exposure to electromagnetic chaos. Think about it. Think about all those invisible frequencies that exist whether you like it or not (i.e. satellite, radio, microwave, cordless phones, cell phones, etc.) The etheric is electromagnetic, so it would be understandable that we could be affected by external electromagnetic waves. I know I have heard that powerful overhead power lines have a physical impact on the plant life that surrounds and grows within proximity of them.

And the fourth cause is stress, which can be reworded into what you think you create. Stress really is unvocalized fear developed within the mind creating ripples out into the environment, the aura and you. This doesn't surprise me. There are physical indicators of a person under stress, just like there are diseases that are directly linked to stress (i.e. heart disease, etc.) Remember, everything vibrates.

So, what holistic habits can we implement to improve our health, take charge of our bodies and increase our vitality? Well, a big thing is proper rest (yes I do listen to my doctor or as I tell my kids, you spend the first few years of your life trying to not have naps and the latter part of your life trying to sneak them in).

Most people need eight hours of sleep every night. Too little or too much, and your body and your mind are sluggish. For me personally, when I don't sleep enough I am groggy and overtired. When I sleep too much, I'm still sluggish, tired and it generally gives me a headache.

The optimum time for sleep is ten until six in the morning. According to his book, Kevin Trudeau claims the hours between ten and two in the morning are the most rejuvenating for your cells and body. I know Dr Wayne Dyer has also stated that the hours between three in the morning and six in the morning are the most spiritually charged though I find six o'clock hard enough to wake up at (a morning person I am not).

Another habit we can implement is drinking water. Not tea, juice or pop, but water. Our body is comprised of water. Water makes up a large portion of each and every cell in our body and these cells generate waste. When we drink water, we give these cells fresh water to replace the water that is polluted by the cells' waste. Drinking water flushes our system and keeps it running in optimum condition.

I know we all roll our eyes when we're told this, but exercise is a big factor in overall health and vitality. Our bodies were designed to move and when it remains sedentary for too long we become sluggish. This isn't a matter of being a muscle bound jock but being having a well rounded day that includes physical activity. Exercise helps with our moods, stress, moves lymphatic fluids, stimulates cells, increases oxygen to the cells, and opens energy channels. Yes, your mother was right when she told you to go outside and play. I don't believe this means you have to go to a health club or become fanatical. I do believe this means go outside and walk, play with your kids and dogs, go hiking, etc. Exercise should be fun and can be blended with your everyday activities (i.e. walk to work rather than drive, take the stairs rather than the elevator, take dance classes with your partner, etc.)

One of the biggest things I have learned is that words and our thoughts have power. We all know this through our metaphysical studies and spells. Words have power because we give them the power of life through our voice and our thoughts. One of the biggest things we can do to improve our health is monitor our thoughts ?where we focus our thoughts. Take some time and really pay attention to the rhetoric that rambles in a continuous stream through your mind. You might be surprised at all the negativity that you'll find happening without realizing it. I know I was. I was also taught that when you meditate, the amount of chatter in your mind actually diminishes during the overall day. This would indicate that if you want to take control of your thoughts and be conscious of what you’re thinking then meditation can be a tool to accomplish those goals.

This concept extends to negative images on T.V., magazines, etc. along with negative music, etc. We all know that watching some things make us feel good, just like listening to some music does the same. Sound has a huge impact on our body. This is proven by the 'let down' reflex a breast feeding woman has when a baby cries. The sound of the crying has a physical impact on our bodies, just like music has an impact on our emotions or a movie makes us feel sad or happy or frightened.

Now these are all common sense or mundane actions we can take but there are also holistic suggestions that we might all want to take into consideration and keep in mind. Eliminating the toxins in our body through cleansings is a common practice with a lot of individuals. Recommended cleanses are the colon cleanse, a liver/gallbladder cleanse, kidney/bladder cleanse, heavy metal cleanse, a parasite cleanse, a Candida cleanse, and a full-body fat tissue/lymphatic cleanse. Of course, we should do this under the supervision of a doctor or via the recommendations of a homeopathic practitioner.

I have been told the human body retains three to fifteen pounds of waste within the colon that keeps the colon from functioning at peak efficiency.

I know, my husband and I used to regularly do a cleanse in the spring however after his heart surgery we decided to postpone continuing with that practice until his health improved and we felt his body was capable of handling the cleanse. So, please, if you are interested in trying this and have never done so before you might want to discuss the idea with either your doctor or a health practitioner before deciding what is the best thing for you to do.

Also, we can eliminate the toxins we ingest by watching what we eat and choosing healthy alternatives. There is a quote I read "if it is made by man, don't eat it". This makes sense to me. Food in its raw state (i.e. apples, etc.) is healthier than processed foods (i.e. chips). I prefer to avoid foods high in preservatives, artificial colorings (artificial anything), chemicals, etc. I mean, I'm not fanatical but I try and ultimately that is what we all can do.

Of course, organic food is probably the healthiest alternative however, for me; it is cost prohibitive and too expensive to be a viable source of food in my kitchen. Prices would cause my grocery bill to double if not triple and the reality for me is that my budget will not allow that. However, if you can choose organic or pick some organic options than by all means support this emerging industry which ultimately is better for the environment and us.

One of the main suggestions in Kevin Trudeau's book is 15 colonics in 30 days. I have no idea what a colonic is but I'm open to the suggestion and I will be trying it this year (I'll let you know how it goes) along with all the other cleanses that he recommends (my health food store is going to love me) which my husband is going to try with me (good thing we've got three bathrooms) and we'll let you know how it goes.

He recommends drinking eight full glasses of water a day. I try to drink as much water as I can though I do fall at times but I do try. I drink distilled water because we live on a farm and our water comes from a dugout. Distilled water ensures my water supply is safe. I don't drink tap water because now that I drink distilled I find that tap water tastes bad due to the chlorine, etc. If I don't have access to my water at home then I drink bottled water instead. But only you can decide what is the best water for you to drink.

He also suggests a machine that cancels out electromagnetic 'noise' around you and in your home. I'm not exactly sure what that is but I'm doing some investigating to find out. If someone knows what he's talking about, please educate me because I would love to learn. He also recommends not smoking (I quit seven years ago), use Feng Shui, bring plants into the home, spend time outside in the sun, in the wind, around a waterfall, etc.

He also recommends using a mini trampoline to stimulate the immune system as well as it strengthens and tones, walking one hour a day, doing chi kung, tai chi. I personally practice karate, yoga and Pilates. Yoga is a wonderful, non impact system that is good for your body as well as your mind. I find myself rejuvenated and serene after practicing Yoga. I know my doctor said that Yoga was a wonderful practice for my spine and body to improve flexibility, tone muscles and improve overall vitality. However, I would simply suggest trying different disciplines and see what works for you and makes you feel good. We all want to feel good.

Ultimately, it's a matter of balance. By taking good care of ourselves, we improve our health, vitality, quality of living and metaphysical abilities as any aspect of our metaphysical studies and practice requires energy and focus. If we aren't feeling well physically then that will impede our ability to meditate, focus, etc.

One of the biggest exposures of toxins are the cleaners in our house. I never truly thought about it because I didn't use a lot of cleaners but the ones that I did use I've thrown out because for me I prefer to use as many environmentally friendly or homemade cleaners in our house to minimize the exposure and use of poisons within our own house.

The following are some recipes you can add to your Book of Shadows for keeping your house clean and shiny. I personally use a basic recipe of rosemary and lavender oil in boiling water to wash walls and floors. This works on a magical and practical level of clearing energies and has anti-bacterial properties. I also use vinegar to wash my floors as I find it works as well as any cleaning product plus is environmentally friendly. However, I read the following recipes and I am going to try and make them this month for my bi-annual cleaning celebration for Imbolg.

Moth Buster by K.D. Spitzer

Combine 1 cup cedar shavings (look in the pet department); ½ cup lavender blossoms; ½ cup tansy blossoms; ½ cup southernwood (add this herb to your garden; the feathery, lacy gray-green leaves will add a nice texture and scent); ½ cup diced lemon peel; ¼ cup each peppermint, pennyroyal, and cut orris root; 10 broken bay leaves; ¼ cup each cloves, broken cinnamon, and peppercorns. Stir well and add 5 drops cedar oil, 4 drops lavender oil, and 3 drops lemon oil. Cover tightly for two weeks and then package in bags of wool or flannel.

The following is a recipe for laundry soap. You should be able to get everything at your local grocery store and it should last for a while depending on how many loads of laundry you use. It's good for the environment, pipes and septic tanks.

Laundry Soap by K.D. Spitzer

Combine 4 cups grated Castile or glycerin soap, 6 cups borax, and 8 cups baking soda. Mix together well and stir in 1-1/2 tablespoons essential oil of lavender or lemon. Keep in a sealed container and use about 1 full cup per load of wash.

Lavender Linen Water by K.D. Spitzer

Mix 100 drops (5 ml) of lavender essential oil and 5 drops of peppermint essential oil with ½ cup vodka. (Use the good stuff. You should be able to buy a 50 ml 'nip' bottle of high test vodka at a liquor store. It will be enough). Stir in 3 cups of distilled, spring, or well water. It will turn cloudy, but it won't stain cloth. Store in a glass container and shake before using. Add a quarter cup to the last rinse water of your bed linens for a comforting scent that will soothe you to sleep.

Cleaner for Kitchen and Bath by K.D. Spitzer

Grate 3 cups Castile soap into a stainless steel pot. Add 6 cups hot peppermint tea, stirring well; heat to simmering. Keep on low heat for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add ½ cup baking soda, 2 teaspoons powdered borax, and 1 teaspoon eucalyptus essential oil. You can store this in a plastic container. If you add a drop or two of one of the citrus essential oils (lemon, lime, grapefruit, or orange), you can also have an oddly scented by effective degreaser for the stove.
Do not use on glass though.

Window Cleaner by K.D. Spitzer

Squeeze one lemon and add the juice to 2 cups club soda. Stir in ½ teaspoon peppermint essential oil and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Mix well and decant into a plastic spray bottle. Shake each time before using.

Also, you can use pine oil for a clean-scented degreaser or tea tree oil to scrub things down after an illness. Cedar oil makes for a disinfectant while lime oil can be sprinkled into some baking soda for a mild abrasive rub.

Now after all the cleaning, you deserve to take a bath and relax.

Old World Mineral Bath Salts by K.D. Spitzer

Mix together in a bowl ½ cup borax and ½ cup sea salt or Dead Sea salt. Then carefully stir in 5 drops sage essential oil, 5 drops rosemary essential oil, and 10 drops pine balsam essential oil. Be sure it's well mixed and tightly sealed if you are storing it for later use. Add the entire amount to the running water and stir the tub with your hand to be sure the salt has dissolved.

Just remember that any tools or containers you use for mixing your essential oils should not be used for food or anything other than your essential oils. Also, remember to use latex gloves and be careful about skin contact with pure oils as only tea tree and lavender are to be used neat.

Next week we will resume our psychic studies with astral projection as well as some meditation techniques. We will probably dedicate more than a single class to these aspects and come back to the topic at a later date to develop these skills further. Also, we will be practicing actual directed meditations within the class itself to experience them as a group. Along with that, Imbolg is coming soon and we will reserve a class for discussing this celebration as well as ideas for celebrating. As we continue our psychic studies, we will take breaks to discuss herbalism, aromatherapy, crystals, spell work, divination, etc.

Well, that's about it for tonight. I hope you enjoyed tonight's class and that it was informative. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].
