February 26, 2006 Craft Class By Hunters_Moon
Hello everyone and welcome back. I hope everyone had a wonderful week and is looking forward to tonight's class. At the beginning of the year we began working through T. Lobsang Rampa's book "You, Forever" and tonight we will continue with another chapter on astral projection.
When it comes to astral projection, we all do it but we don't all do it consciously. Have you ever had that jerk just before falling asleep and you wake yourself up. According to his book, this is your astral self slamming back into the body because of some sensation that drew it back roughly into the body. He also states that astral projection is quite simple and easy to accomplish when we believe we can do it and we are not afraid. Our biggest obstacles in accomplishing astral projection are fear and ourselves. Go figure!
Now let's take a moment to discuss fear. As Rampa says "there is nothing to fear except fear". Well, that sounds profound but exactly what does that mean? Fear really is our instinctive response to a threat or perceived threat with our ingrained reflex being 'fight or flight'. This is a basic instinct of survival but often now, this instinct has become the basis of our stress as our mind creates threats that are either non-existent or enhances a problem which in turn triggers this response in our system. The fact is that fear is based in our head and this instinctual 'fight or flight' struggles to exert itself in a modern reality creating stress because often we cannot fight (punching the boss because he's an idiot really doesn't fall in the top ten ways to deal with co-workers) or flight (running away from work because the boss refuses to understand your need for a raise really doesn't succeed in job security or pay raises). So, this instinct doesn't have any practical day to day use. Of course it comes in handy when some stranger jumps out at you in dark alley in the middle of the night, but realistically the fear factor really isn't effective in day to day affairs.
Fear is simply the unknown. Some people don't like the unknown, stepping outside the box, not being in control, being unsure and therefore they hold themselves back comfortable in what they know but constantly longing to see outside their comfort zone. Accept that you do not know what will happen and that's okay. Know that nothing can harm you as long as you are not afraid. Know that you can always go back the moment you want to.
The other factor is belief. Belief is a funny thing because often what we believe is really what we've been told by our parents, society, elders, friends, etc. rather than what we know for ourselves through our own experiences. If you find yourself unsure then realize that you do not believe and then ask yourself why you don't believe in yourself. Dissect your reasons and see if there is any truth or basis for this uncertainty. Ultimately I think you will discover that this uncertainty is really without basis and once you have dissected it and discussed it with yourself you'll find the uncertainty losing its hold and power over your desire to believe.
Make sense?
Anyway, in talking with our John (Yay, John. Hope you're feeling better.) He suggested a simple exercise for moving into the astral. John suggested lying down and relaxing every point in your body. Make sure you won't be disturbed and that you are completely relaxed and comfortable. Any twitch, interruption, etc. will simply yank you back into your physical form or keep you from relaxing and then you might as well just stop for the night and try again another time. Anyway, once you are relaxed, imagine yourself floating on water inside a hollowed out log. Feel the water undulating beneath you; you're body light as a feather. Stay in this feeling for a while. Breathe and relax. Feel the water ebb and flow, flow and ebb, and when you are ready…let the log roll over so that you fall out. The water thing kind of bothered me for falling into so I considered altering it to floating on the breeze on a leaf and having the leaf curl around you and over so that you slip out into the air. Either way, give it a try and see.
I know that alcohol and some medications will allow the person to astral project. Often a drunk sees things in his drunken stupor that are astral entities and medications often force the astral out of the body being foreign substances that affect the overall vibration of the body. I don't recommend either method as they both are foreign substances that artificially induce the state needed to astral project and cause damage to both mind and body. A healthier and more conducive suggestion is using CDs available to help relax you and induce the mind state needed to astral travel. I know I recently downloaded a free half hour of music to help with Lucid Dreaming that I'm going to try out and see how it works. As well as other music for relaxing and meditation. The nice thing is that it was all free and the music is really good.
As we discussed in other classes, where you put your thoughts determines a lot of where you really are so if you can think 'outside' your form then you are already creating an environment for astral projection. Rampa suggests visualizing yourself at the foot of your bed looking at yourself relaxing on the bed. Really see this image and you might surprise yourself by actually shifting out of the physical and into the astral. You might hear a popping like balloon or a slight tearing sound as you make the separation but do not be afraid as you are completely safe.
Another idea is to lie down and visualize yourself floating above your physical body a few feet. Really focus on this image. You might surprise yourself and actually find yourself astral traveling.
When you are able to make the separation, explore the room. On this first excursion you don't want to go far. Just explore the ceiling, the nooks and the crannies. Check out spots you generally cannot see when you are in the physical. When you feel ready to leave your home, visit a relative or friend whom you know well. Picture them clearly in your mind. Picture the way to their house as if you are going there physically and really visualize the person, their home, everything as clear as possible. Then go there and visit.
Astral travel is apparently easy and attainable to everyone if only we believe and are not afraid. And like everything else in metaphysical studies, all a person has to do is practice, practice, practice.
As before, this part of the class we will review some stones and crystals for our own information and education. Last class we discussed all the various forms of agate, so today we will continue with the A's and begin with amazonite.
Amazonite blocks geopathic stress and is a soothing stone that calms the brain and nerves, aligning the physical with the etheric for optimum health. It balances male and female as well as helping a person see both sides of a problem. It is a stone for alleviating fear and dispels negativity. Amazonite is beneficial for osteoporosis, tooth decay, calcium deficiency and deposits. It relieves muscle spasms and as an elixir rectifies calcium problems. Wear it to protect against microwaves or place it near computers or tape it to your cell phone.
Next is amber. Amber really isn't a stone. It's tree sap that has fossilized but it is a powerful healer and cleanser. I love amber as it absorbs and transforms negative into positive, stimulates healing and is a powerful protector. It is also a motivational stone that gives you the drive to achieve while its warm color gives people sunny dispositions while clearing depression and encouraging creative self-expression. The stone treats the stomach, spleen, kidneys, bladder, liver and gallbladder; works on joints and strengthens mucus membranes. As an elixir it is a natural antibiotic.
Amethyst is another of my favorite stones used to prevent drunkenness and is a powerful healer, protector that blocks geopathic stress and guards against psychic attack. It enhances meditation and higher consciousness while overcoming addictions and blockages. Amethyst is good for the memory and visualization while it dispels anger, rage, fear and alleviates sadness and grief. This is a very spiritual stone that encourages spiritual wisdom, intuition, etc. The stone boosts the production of hormones and tunes the endocrine and metabolism. It also reduces bruising, injuries, swelling and hearing problems. It works on the lungs and respiratory tract, skin conditions, cellular disorders and the digestive tract. Also it treats insomnia and it is said it is helpful for people about to make the transition through death.
Violet-Lavender Amethyst has a high vibration and the double terminated lilac crystals take you into beta brain waves. Violet flowers bring light and love into the environment.
Chevron Amethyst is one of the best third-eye stimulators. It brings the organs into harmony and cleanses the aura with its focused energy dissipating and repelling negative energy.
Pineapple Amethyst facilitates contact with the mythic and fairytale realms, stimulating the imagination.
Ametrine is a stone I adore. I saw ametrine once and was immediately drawn to it not even knowing what kind of stone it was. All I knew was that it spoke to me. But my brain overrode my intuitive desire to bring this stone home (along with my checkbook balance) and I never did buy it and have regretted it ever since never finding another stone like it. Moral of the story…listen to that voice when it comes to you so strong irregardless. There is a reason and there is a purpose or you'll be kicking yourself in the rear forever after (still kicking myself). Anyway, ametrine protects from psychic attack and helps with astral travel. It clears stress and brings focus opening the third eye to promote healing and divination. It stimulates creativity and taking control of your live and is a stone that can overcome apparent contradictions. It strengthens concentration, releases blockages, brings about transformation and insight into emotional distress. Ametrine gets to the bottom of it all. It is a powerful cleanser of negativity in the aura and toxins in the body. It strengthens the immune system, oxygenates the body, aids the autonomic nervous system, heals chronic fatigue, depression, gastric disturbances, ulcers, fatigue, tension headaches, stress related diseases, and aids in physical maturation. Also it releases blockages.
So, that's a few more stones to add to your knowledge. I have a weakness for stones and I pick them up wherever I go. I was blessed to find the most unusual stone on an excursion to the river last summer (where I wound up with a jacket that weighed twenty pounds after I stuff all my pockets). But this stone I literally was pulled to as my eyes scanned the rocks and then hit on this unusual dark brown or black stone lying in the mud. What was odd was that is wasn't like any other stone in the area and it didn't look like a river rock. When I dug it out, it was about the size of a large granny smith apple with about a third of it broken away. Inside is like a round core with the outside skin almost melted and a glossy sheen to it. There's a divot on the end that fits my thumb exactly when I cradle the stone in my palm. I'm not a geologist but it is an unusual stone that sits on my writing desk and sometimes when I sit it with its point upwards I swear I can almost see a shape sitting inside the depths of the shadows and crevasses. I wish I knew what kind of stone it was (I'm a curious type of person) but I do love the stone.
I try to make at least one of two trips to the river for stone hunting and spending time with the kids. It's an activity they love and enjoy, and I'm always amazed at the amazing stones you find.
So, that's it for tonight. Hope you all enjoyed the class. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Thanks and have a wonderful week.
