Militant Islam through Jihad, has continually disrupted the peace for thousands of years.
I will say "Militant" anything produces the exact same result in every religion including "Atheism". Right now in the US you are far more likely to be killed by a Militant Christian; although by far at this particular time the Militant Islamic forces are more murderous in the world. In the last century however Atheists were by far the most murderous and in the 19th century it was the Christians.
