I ask for this recipe after trying it at a formal dinner party years ago. This makes a great appetizer or a main dish.  Delicious.

 MEATBALLS
 4 slices of Bread
 1/2 cup Water
 2 Eggs
 1 lb Ground Beef
 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
 2 Tbsp Parsley
 1 tsp Salt
 1/4 cup Dried Oregeno
 dash of Pepper
 2 Tbsp Salad Oil

Soak bread in water 2 or 3 minutes.  Add eggs.  Mix well.  Combine beef with cheese, parsley, salt, oregeno and pepper.  With wet hands, form balls.  Place on large sheet of wax paper.  Brown in hot salad oil.  Place meatballs on paper towel and let drain.  Set aside.

 SAUCE
 3/4 cup Chopped Onion
 1 clove Minced Garlic
 2 Tbsp Salad Oil
2 lb can of diced Tomatoes
 2-6 ounce cans Tomato Paste
 2 cups Water
1 1/2 tsp Dried Crushed Oregano
 1 Bay Leaf
 1 tsp Sugar
 1 1/2 tsp Salt
 2 tsp Pepper

Cook onion and garlic in hot oil.  Cook until tender but not brown.  Stir in the rest of the ingredients.  Simmer uncovered 30 minutes.  Remove bay leaf.  Add meatballs and continue cooking covered for 30 more minutes.
