Yes, I think blueberries would be perfect. Jam making is so wonderfully gratifying, Bama. Jars look so pretty when filled with fruit glistening like jewels with sugar, and of course, way better than store bought. You've inspired me. I haven't made jam for a few years, but I have sitting in hall closet a couple dozen clean mason jars just waiting. Tomorrow is farmer's market, and I believe I'll buy peaches, as they're at their peak and maybe find some of those cutsey "Made in kitchen of ____ labels.
When my Dad was alive, he had a yen for watermelon pickles that he enjoyed as a youth, and I put up a few jars for him. That was pretty labor intensive, but they were awfully tasty.
