We unfortunately lost two of our hens that were being 'chicken-sat' by friends of ours due to predators. I don't blame the lady who was taking care of them-these things happen, but I will miss Aurora and Penny. At least Christina is still there and doing well.
Hopefully she will be able to come with us when we move (if we are lucky, that will be within two-three months).
BTW, we have interested parites in our current house, so we hope to have an offer soon. We have made an offer that was accepted for a 4 acre place outside of Fredonia, NY for $48,500. The house has almost everything that we need-over 1900 SF, 4 BR 1.5 baths, room for Hubby's office and 3 workable outbuildings (one for 2 goats, one for poultry, & one for whatever). We can house the rabbits in the house until a barn is built.
Bunny traffic has been very busy; we have some come and go in a good way. We offically have 32 with us right now, with 76 officially having forever homes since 8-02. I am hoping for a total of 100 placed bunnies by 8-04 (our second anniversary of DDR)
Please keep me in your prayers as I am going through treatment for an MS attack. I have been dealing with a lot of sporatic pain and getting through treatment with steroids (which burdens everyone else here with my erratic behavior), resulting in my only getting 4-6 hours of sleep a night for the last week.
TYIA,
Nefer's Ark
BTW, we got a mother cat and her two babies from the farm who is hensitting for us, since people have been dumping strays on them and we have a mouse problem here anyway. They are so pretty, friendly, and wonderful to have around.
