Howdy!  Ok, so here's the scoop.  I currently am breeding Partridge Wyandotte Bantams, Brown Red Modern Game Bantams, Quail D'Anvers, and I want to start breeding White Crested Black Polish Bantams (i think it's bantam).  I know what the ideal body shape for a modern is (ex: long legs, the space in between the legs should be bout 1 inch wide, FLAT back, etc), but i don't know what the ideal body shape is for a Wyandotte (I know they should have wide wing feathers and a curvy body), a D'Anver, and a Polish is.  So this is where you nice people come in... Could you please tell me what I want in those breeds?  And one quick question on D'Anvers... I personally like dark quail D'Anvers, but what do most judges like: light, dark, or in between?  Thanks to whoever can help me!!!  Have a great day!

Hey honey,
I will try to get my standards book out today and scan some of the info in there for you that could help you with these question...I did show the D'anvers myself...But to tell you about what the judges like,
I found that you could go to one show and that judge would prefer one thing...and you go to the next and that judge would judge totally differant from the last show... It's back to personal preferance on the coloring... Now they have to judge by the book on all the other traits but the light and dark color thing does vary...
I will get busy on this honey and so sorrry it's taken me so long to be able to be online...
Blessing's honey,
mama Tami

thank u!  yeah, i know what you mean by the varying judges, I was just curious if there is a particular color that most judges like.  I guess I'll take a gamble and breed dark De 'Anvers.  And I found some imfo on the ideal body shape for the breeds (it wasn't in the Standard, it was in the Bantam Standard), but I was just curious if there were breeders of those breeds that would share their tips.  thnx again!  have a great day!
