I would like to worm my 8 chickens. I bought Wazine 17 at the feed store. It is for turkeys, chicken and swine. My 4 rabbits share water with the chickens and there's no practical way to separate them. I've been meaning to call my vet but I thought I would ask if any of you know whether this wormer is safe for rabbits.

Hi Michelle,

I honestly don't know what to tell you since I haven't read anything about rabbits and wormers.  I do know that bunnies sharing water with other animals is not a good idea since this is how diseases are spread (they are prone to catching a lot of illnesses as it is).  Chickens manage to get all kinds of stuff in their water (at least ours do).

I just wouldn't take the chance, but that's JMO.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful,
Deb

I think I would probably recommend the same thing...keep dishes separate as well as medications.

I know for example that ducks should not get the same medicated food as chickens do as it is harmful.  I would think the same would go for wormers.

Hope that helps but definitely check with your vet.  Michelle
