This is the first article submitted by one of our members.
I want to say a Special Thanks to Kate for being our
very First contributor.... Mama Gozzard

Lavendar
This is a great relaxant and stress reducer and (helps
with headaches in people too !) It has natural insect
repellant qualities so it helps stop the combs from getting
bitten
if you have a mosquito problem. (at least you can
deal with the mozzies, or you can take the sting out of the
bites if you did not prevent them) Lavendar can be
used full strength or mixed  with other oils in a carrier oil,
such as to help with bruising.

Lavendar, Eucalyptus & Rosemary

Blend the above oils (about 4 drops of each in 2  teaspoons
of sweet Almond Oil) as a muscle rub for strains, pulled or
bruised muscles.

Eucalyptus
Blend this at the rate of 5 drops to 2 tsp Almond Oil too,
and it's great for anything to do with respiratory problems.

It acts to clear up excess fluid in breathing passages and
reduce any swelling in them - just rub it on the combs and
wattles .

(TIP: can help reduce the noise level of a snoring
  husband too!!!)

Tree Tea Oil
Again, I use this blended at the same rate as above. This
oil is great for treating cuts, scratches, and grazes as it
contains a natural antibiotic to prevent infection and it's
high in Vitamin E to encourage skin repair. I also use it
as a comb dressing at shows, (with a little Lavender
added to the mix to help stress).  When rubbed into the
comb and wattles, it really brings up a lovely re colour.

These are the ones I use most often, and the simplest.

I've given theamounts to blend if you're using Aroma
therapy Oils, but sometimes you can buy them at
"weaker strength" already mixed.

P.S. Just wanted to add a note that Tree Tea Oil
can now be found at Wal ~ Mart in the Pharmacy
Part of the store !
